BTW, I have info for people having specific problems with their Concerto. I've been through just about every problem (the only original part on mine is the motherboard, and some have been replaced twice or more), and while a pain to get ahold of (like 20+ mins wait) the Compaq tech support has been extremely good about getting things fixed. For anyone with the problem where the plastic breaks around the handle hinge next to the battery: they have a new design with an improved hinge mechanism, although it may not be available for a few months yet. Contact tech support and get yourself onto the list if your plastic is broken. This problem is caused by the looseness of the hinge. If the side of the handle can pull away and be pushed back towards the case, the metal tab (which can be seen by removing the battery) can slip past the lower (towards screen) plastic catches, and then it only pushes on the thin outer plastic when the handle is moved. Eventually this will cause the plastic to break. If you notice that your hinge is loose enough to allow this to happen, I recommend pushing the metal tab thingy back into place and using superglue (be careful not to spill any) to hold it in place. This should prevent it from breaking in the future. Scott Griepentrog Contract Programmer stg@iquest.net
