It IS a new version written specifically for Warp. It contains some new API's and supports SOM and allows you to write directly into text or data entry field, in lined or unlined handwriting. There is a way to make previous versions run with Warp and for that you should see the Warp ReadMe file. To get a copy of 1.03 you can call IBM Direct, 800-342-6672, and ask for part number 25H7380. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is an GA level product. Its feature set is the same as what has been on the last couple of DevCons, but with more defects fixed and function working "correctly". It went GM in May, so I doubt it is available on any DevCon or DDK CD that is currently shipping. The major changes in this release from 1.0 are: 1) SLE and MLE controls have been pen enabled 2) The Workplace shell has become more "pen-aware" 3) SOM based objects have been created that allow application programmers to bypass the pen-enabled controls and control ink, gesture, and text recognition however it is deemed best for their purposes. 4) The recognition engine though still NON cursive, now recognizes boxed, lined, and unlined input. 5) A few more devices are now part of the install process. I haven't been a part of the IBM Pen organization since January, but I would assume that if you are a current owner of the 1.0 product, that IBM will cut you a break on the upgrade, but I would need to ask to confirm. I will try to get the market interface person to post to this newsgroup to give the correct answers. The biggest problem I see is that the pen market has imploded into a highly vertical market over the last 18 months, so that could be a reason why no annoucements or upgrade offers.
